Lekahena House

A 500- sq. meter residence compound with a rural backdrop surrounded by palm trees and rice fields. The home includes three detached buildings, the “Rumah” containing the main bedroom loft with a semi outdoor shower, a private living space and two additional bedrooms with a shared shower, the “Bale Makan” containing kitchen, dining terrace, and reception area, and the Service quarters containing storage, laundry, maid’s room and bathroom. The timber construction and details contribute to the coziness of the home. Exposed cobblestone and wrought iron features give a feel of Dutch colonial times. While exposed brickwork at the entry terrace and dining area, together with the timber construction details give a touch of American Craftsman style and blends in with the antique furniture and fabrics of the Client’s private collection.
